Dale has been a part of the Marathon community for 14 years and immediately became involved in MCT in 2011 with its production of “Blithe Spirit.” Since then, he’s been involved both on-stage, with performances in productions such as “A Few Good Men,” “Marrying Terry,” and “Leading Ladies,” and behind-the-scenes, by serving on the MCT Board of Directors for approximately 8 years between 2012 and present. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been as active with MCT over the last few years, as his 3 y/o daughter, Kaylynn, has been keeping him busy and on his toes, but he now welcomes another opportunity to be a part of the MCT Board. He welcomes another opportunity to be a part of the MCT Board.
Jen has been a member of MCT since 2017. At One Weekend Only in 2018, Jen was casually asked if she would be a dresser for La Cage Aux Folles. She replied with a non-committal maybe. As it turns out, maybe means a resounding YES when speaking to MCT folks! Jen ended up being ZaZa’s dresser in the show. However, she is very grateful for being volunTOLD and meeting so many wonderful people that have become like family! She has since worked backstage for Making God Laugh, Four Old Broads, One Weekend Only, Sunset Village and was the assistant stage manager for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Jen was a board member from 2019-2021, through Covid. And was also the MCT Cinema Committee chair, which oversaw the revamping of the Cinema and re-opening. She is currently a member of the Entertainment Committee. And has bartended for nearly every show! Outside of theatre life, Jen is a Real Estate agent and a local business owner. She is a mother of 4 children, ages 18 thru 34, and has 3 grandchildren.
In the real world, I have enjoyed a career as a Certified Hand Therapist/OT, merging the art and science of helping people regain function. I have also coordinated and taught continuing education classes, published book chapters, and served on the Board of Directors (including President) of a 3000-member professional organization (American Society of Hand Therapists.) I have developed skills in writing and speaking, creative problem solving, strategic planning, budgeting, logistics, and herding cats. My husband and I moved to Marathon full-time about two years ago, and my introduction to MCT was when I attended the Murder Mystery at the Mall. This inspired me to audition for the New Years’ Eve Murder Mystery which was my first acting gig since performing as an elf in second grade! I enjoyed the people and the experience, even though my character was the killer in two of three stagings.
George and his family came to the Keys 32 years ago from Clinton, MI, a small southeastern Michigan town. He served in the army stationed at SHAPE in Belgium for two years. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University in Business Administration and the University of Toledo School of Law, he worked in his family insurance business and practiced law in Clinton. Since moving to the Keys he has operated a franchise, “Wild Birds Unlimited”, managed a pool club, operated as an employment recruiter, and worked at USPS, as a City Carrier and a supervisor, from where he retired in 2015. He has served on and is the present Chairman of The Planning and Zoning Board of Key Colony Beach.
George joined MCT during his first week in Marathon in 1992. He has served as a board member and was President of the Board of Directors during the fundraising for and purchase of the Side Door Lounge/Marathon cinema that is now the Marathon Community Theatre playhouse and cinema. He has been in numerous plays both in Michigan and The Keys including leads in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas“ in Monroe Michigan, and “The Music Man,” and “Kiss Me Kate” for MCT.
George lives in Key Colony Beach and is looking forward to getting more involved in the business of Marathon Community Theatre.
My name is Kym Momaly. I was first introduced to the theater in 1992 when I was in the play Inherit the Wind. The cast welcomed me as the young sophomore in high school who was nervous and yet happy to be an extra as a towns woman. Fast forward to 2015 to present I have been a belly dancer, beginning tapper, Children's summer theater volunteer, backstage hand, usher, costume assistant, pep talk coach and gallery decorator for MCT. I have had the pleasure of dancing with my three children here at MCT. I have experience with volunteering with the South Florida Council Boy Scouts of America various committees, Relay for Life, Marathon Zonta Club and School Advisory Council for Marathon High School.
Alex Rickert has been an active MCT member since 2017 and serves as the theater's current Vice President of Production. Along with many other individuals, he dedicated time to numerous rebuilding projects as the theater reopened following Hurricane Irma, and eventually oversaw the design and installation of the theater's new lighting system in 2019. Since then, he has served as the light designer, technician, or both for nearly every show at MCT, along with many stage appearances. He is the current editor of the Marathon Weekly and has supported MCT productions with written publications and photography for many years. He would be honored to continue serving this organization that gave him an amazing and unexpected home away from home in the Keys.
Sean Sayer is a lifelong resident of Marathon and has appeared on the MCT stage every decade since the 80's, .He has performed as Roy in Lone Star ('97), Andrew in I Hate Hamlet ('01), Stu in Bathroom Humor ('16) and most recently in the cameo role of Delivery Guy on closing night in this year's production of Barefoot in the Park. Sean is a past Board Member of United Way of Monroe County and Rotary Club of Marathon. A 1997 graduate of Washington and Lee University, Sean has been a successful business owner and investor for over 20 years. In addition, his past experience as Marketing Director of Marine Bank should be an asset for the MCT Board. He is married to past MCT Board Member, Director and Pampered Palm winning Actress Allison Sayer, and is father to Sutton (12) and Landry (9), who have been appearing on our stage since they were in the womb
I am a Chicago native having graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam, I started my 29 year business career in public accounting with various finance positions in between. I retired from Anda, Inc (a three billion dollar pharmaceutical distributor) as VP of Finance and Sales (also a member of the Executive Team).
My wife and I permanently moved to Marathon in 2015. I saw my first MCT show, “A Few Good Men” and shortly thereafter became a member of the theatre. The incredible experiences of participating in “Story Slam”, and then “Cabaret” got me hooked on the joy of theater. Since then, I have been on stage and behind stage in many productions. I am looking forward to future stage opportunities as well as opportunities to use my past business experience to continue the legacy of the Marathon Community Theatre.
Phil and his wife Carol have been in Marathon for over 2 years. They immediately joined the theater, bought season tickets and have enjoyed many shows and events
Prior to arriving in Marathon, Phil was a teacher in middle and high school, as well as a general contractor for over 30 years.
Phil is a long-time volunteer. He is a past Commodore of Catalina Association of New England, was on the Board of Governors of the Salem Willows Yacht Club (a hands-on, self-service yacht club), and started the FIRST Robotics program in Burlington Massachusetts.
For the past 2 shows (Barefoot in the Park, and Disenchanted), Phil has been involved in set building and design. He has also assisted with small maintenance and repairs of the theater itelf. His vast knowledge of construction and general property needs and services would be valuable to the MCT Board.
He is looking forward to joining the board to help keep this wonderful venture going strong!
