Truvy's Beauty Salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana is the setting for Steel Magnolias. Over a period of several years, we follow the lives, loves and losses of six women. We meet them as they come to the Beauty Salon for their weekly appointments: they are a varied group, of different ages, temperaments and fortunes, but they are united by their determination to overcome life's setbacks.
