Dear fellow Members,

First off, a big thank-you to all the members who pitched in to help fill the Massage Therapy time slot.  Dan Gallagher and Larry Benvenuti stepped up to the plate first with their combined slide show.  Then the High School students under the directorship of Sunny Booker brought us a wonderful production of Ann Franke.  Next up Red Barn brings in Frozen.  Audience reaction (ticket sales that is) have been wonderful to all three productions.  And member support (thanks Paul and Reitt especially) has been above and beyond.  Of course, none of this could have happened without our staff, lead by the ever flexible and patient, Wanda Whitehouse, full support.

Part of the process of rearranging the schedule involved Board members calling season ticket holders. Many thanks to those who did this task.  I found it delightful to talk to our supporters. It reinforced how wonderful our patrons think our theatre is and how much the support our work.  Each of them spoke very enthusiastically about all our productions.  Most of those who could not attend one of the replacement shows chose to donate the amount they paid for their tickets instead of asking for refunds!

Hope you are all planning on attending the June 1st quarterly membership meeting. We will be voting for the new Board as well as the Pampered Palm awarded.  For those of you who don't know, the Pampered Palm award goes to someone who has participated in working on 3 productions in the current season.  The entire membership votes, IF you are at the meeting.

Also mark your calendar for the annual Pampered Palm gala on June 4th.  Terry and her committee are putting together a fun event.  It's a time for all of us to gather and just have fun.

See you at the theatre.

Election of Board of Directors

June 1st is the date set for our nest quarterly membership meeting.  In addition to bringing the membership up to date on theatre happenings and greeting new members two elections will be held.  The slate of members running for vacant board of director positions will be voted on.  This slate can be found at absenteeballot2005.htm. This board is the heart of our organization and it is important that all members vote for the the people they feel is most qualified. Absentee ballets will be available for those not able to attend the meeting.  The Pampered Palm Award recipient will also be elected.  The person receiving this award must have participated in all of our productions for the year.  A slate of qualified candidates will be presented at the meeting.

Dear Directors and Producers for the 05-06 Season!

Hopefully the June 1 general meeting will be well attended and we can present our new and up-coming season.

I would like for the directors or their representatives to make a presentation (a pitch) for their production at the meeting as part of the program besides Board elections and Pampered Palm election. A brief synopsis and the casting requirements to drum up interest in Sept auditions would be fine.

Since OWO will be having 1st auditions in August, your schedule and perhaps a list of available songs should also be handed out. You know our members are always eager to get started on their possible selections. If you have songs already being prepared, you might list them also so no one selects them to audition.
Ann

It's A Mexican Fiesta

The pampered palm awards dinner will be a Mexican fiesta this year.  On Saturday, June 4th at 7:00 PM our annual end of the season awards dinner will be held.  Bring a covered dish. Tacos and beverages will be provided.  RSVP Terry at 923-3495, Donna 481-0339, or Christine 289-3925 by May 25.  Wear your favorite fiesta attire.

Pets & Kids Photographic Exhibit at the Theatre

During the summer theatre schedule, Mary Beth Martell and Kathy Lancaster will exhibit their photographic works in a show called Pets & Kids. Martell specializes in pet portraiture while Lancaster specializes in children's sports and portraits. The combined exhibit will be the premiere showing for both artists. The exhibit will be available for viewing during the schedule of live performances through out the summer.
