The meeting was called to order at 6"05 pm in the Gallery of the Playhouse by the President, Jane Madden. The agenda was approved. The minutes of the March meeting were approved.

Present: Jane Madden. Ann Hart, Claudia McEwen, Sandy Saylor, Carolyn Black, Paul Buckley, Ruth Cadman, J. D. Cullen, Bert Estlow, Ron Ferguson, Heidi Ferrell, Laura Hutt, Rita Irwin, Kathryn Rummery, Marilyn Tempest. Excused Absence: George Woodward, Marlea Roberts, Reit Steinmetz.


TREASURER/FINANCE: Sandy Saylor that Marta has put together the Cinema data and Rita is :massaging” it and will bring her findings to the next meeting. Basically kids spend less than adults. Cinema ticket sales are down more than concessions are down. Total revenues down about 8%. Costs of film rental down, concession up. Gross profit down 8.6%. Lively discussion. Budget will be voted on at May meeting.


VP PRODUCTION: Ann Hart reported 1) Working on Production Staff - resource list - every check for any omissions. 2) Applause - still collecting figures. Attendance - 1869/69 comps 3) Veronica’s room - dress rehearsal 4/25 and opens 4/26. 4) Music Man - Jill wants an assistant director next year. Anyone interested, wee Ann. Will also present at the general meeting.


GENERAL MANAGER: Bonnie has previously distributed her report. Highlights and additions: 1) gave out tickets to Veronica’s Room at the Chamber luncheon today. 2) Working on more new sponsors 3) please look at, fill out and turn in your vision statement. 4) Raffle during Super Boat Races for a ride. 500 $10.00 tickets - we can make $5,000.00. Thanks to Bettye Chaplin for all the help. 50 discussed Volunteer of th Year Award. 6) Reviewed candidates for Pampered Palm - Riet Steinmetz, Rita Irwin, Paul Buckley, Ann Hart, Cathy Supp, Dan Gallagher. 7) New, Alternative Programing - Storytellers - will get demo tape and continue to evaluate


BUILDING COMM: Marilyn reported 1) local landscaper will do brush in parking lot for a small additional fee (already does other work on the grounds) 2) Cinema will be painted in May. 3) Problem with lights upstairs? Paul will talk to Hap 4) Investigate additional track lighting for Producers Room


PAMPERED PALM: Laura needs clean-up people, Eric will DJ - what kind of music? Cocktails at 7:30pm, dinner at 8:00pm awards will start during dinner. Sandy request food preferences - lots of suggestions.


NEW BUSINESS: 1) Cecilia Woodward has resigned as Wardrobe Mistress. Ann Hart will be new mistress. Suggested rentals thru box office to cut down on phone calls. 3) Ticket prices - a) outreach - give tickets to people who help us, not just anyone (Rita);


ONE WEEK-END ONLY: lengthy discussion of many facets including the name of the show and the price of the tickets. Rita moved and Claudia seconded that we increase the ticket price to $35.00. Passed.

Claudia moved and Riet seconded that it be tabled to next meeting. Passed. c) Rita moved and Marilyn seconded that we pursue the “Three for Thursday” promotional idea for one show and then try a “3+1" promotion for a second show and see which works better. Passed. D) Rita moved and Sandy seconded that opening week-end of the straight shows have a “Locals Week-end” including Friday and Saturday nights of opening weekend. Passed. e) Contributor Acknowledgments deferred to next meeting.


OLD BUSINESS: One application for Tech Director - Dan Gallagher. who was accepted by the executive committee. Bert moved and Ann seconded that we hire Dan as the technical director. Passed without opposition. Rita abstained. Ob will start May 11th with strike of Veronica’s Room. Organizational meeting on June 1, 10am to discuss green room and other issues.
